PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase strength of a mounting and hanging mechanism of an electronic device provided with the mounting and hanging mechanism without increasing the size and manufacturing cost of the portable electronic device. SOLUTION: A digital camera includes the mounting and hanging mechanism for mounting and hanging a string member for carrying on a cover member 12 for forming a cabinet. The mounting and hanging mechanism is structured of a metal mounting and hanging member 61 and a projection part 62. The mounting and hanging member 62 is fixed in a certain position inside the cabinet, and includes a mounting and hanging part which is projected in an inverted U shape from a surface 121 of the cover member 12, that is a pair of arm parts 631, 632 and a shaft 64. The projection part 62 is integrally formed on the cover member 12, projects from the surface 121 of the cover member 12 so as to cover the mounting and hanging part of the mounting and hanging member 61 from an outside, and includes a through-hole 621 opened so as to pass a string member by passing through an inside of the mounting and hanging part.
