<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger unit sufficiently promoting supercooling and usable as an evaporator without problems. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The heat exchanger unit 1 is provided with: a first stage heat exchanger 10; and a second stage heat exchanger through which a refrigerant passed through the first stage heat exchanger passes during condensation. The first stage heat exchanger 10 is a parallel-flow down-flow type. As the second stage heat exchanger, any of a parallel-flow side-flow type second stage heat exchanger 20, a serpentine type second stage heat exchanger 30 or a fin-and-tube type second stage heat exchanger 40 is used. The second stage heat exchangers 20, 30, 40 have a refrigerant flow passage area smaller than that of the first stage heat exchanger 10.
