A holder for a package of twine comprises a fixed post 40, two slotted plates 26, 27 guided to move axially and radially relative to the post by rivets 32, 33 in the slots 30, 31, and a spring 38 urging the plates outwardly to frictionally grip the conical core 39 of a twine package 41 which is manually thrust onto the holder. To grip cylindrical cores, adapters 49 may be attached to the plates 26, 27 as shown in Fig. 6. The holder may be mounted in a polyethylene bucket 10 stiffened by plates 17, 18 and containing a foam rubber pad 43. It may be used to supply twine to a tying machine. |
