Apparatus for unloading bulk cargo into lighters 28, 29, 30 is supported on a pontoon 1 which is divided into two halves 2, 3, so that several lighters can be brought into loading positions together, thus minimizing the time wasted waiting for full lighters to move away and empty lighters to come alongside. Cargo is unloaded by a bucket elevator 9, slewable about a horizontal axis 10, and transferred, via a shoot 12 and a conveyer 11, to a bunker 13. From the latter cargo passes up a conveyer 14 to a pair of longitudinal conveyers 17, 18. Each of the longitudinal conveyers has four telescopic discharge pipes 16 which pivot in horizontal and vertical planes. |
