PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor in which the internal resistance can be reduced while reducing the size and the number of components. SOLUTION: In the process for manufacturing a capacitor comprising a tubular bottomed metal case 6 containing a hollow capacitor element 1 having a pair of electrode portions formed on the opposite end faces by winding a pair of planar electrodes interposing a separator such that the end faces of respective electrodes project in the opposite directions together with driving electrolyte, and a plate 7 for sealing the opening of the metal case 6, bottom face of the metal case 6 and one swaged electrode portion 2b of the capacitor element 1 are bonded through irradiation with laser light from the bottom face side of the metal case 6, and a metal plate 5 and the other swaged electrode portion 2a of the capacitor element 1 are bonded through irradiation with laser light from the surface of the metal plate 5.
