<p>The method involves transmitting a session number to a receiver of a chipcard (C) e.g. smart card, and calculating cryptographic functional values through the chipcard by using a cryptographic function e.g. hash-function, based on the session number. The cryptographic functional values are transmitted through the chipcard to a local terminal (LT) for authentication of the local terminal against a communication device e.g. remote terminal (RT). A communication between the chipcard and the communication device is formed by using an Internet protocol. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electronic chipcard for executing an authentication method (2) a computer program for executing an authentication method.</p> |
