PURPOSE: An image processing device and an image processing method, and a storage medium for the same are provided to prevent the display of a tracking target from being blurred using the correlation of images when a subject which is the tracking target is missed during a tracking process. CONSTITUTION: An image processing device includes a setting unit, a tracking unit, a deciding unit(116), and a control unit(102). The setting unit sets a tracking target area in a first image. The tracking unit detects a tracking target candidate area which most deeply related to the tracking target area set by the setting unit in a second image. The deciding unit calculates the difference between an evaluation value acquired from the tracking target candidate area and an evaluation value acquired from an adjacent area of the tracking target candidate area. If the difference is higher than a threshold value, the control unit updates the tracking target area and If the difference is lower than the threshold value, the control unit resets the tracking target area. |
