PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flexural fatigue resistance of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer without reducing gas-barrier properties and heat-resistance of the copolymer. SOLUTION: The ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having an ethylene content of 20-50 mol% contains 0.01-1 mol% of a structural unit expressed by formula (3) (wherein n is integer of 2-5; m is integer of 10-20; and R<SP>1</SP>is 1-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group; R<SP>1</SP>group may contain mercapto, thioester, sulfenamido, vinyl, methacryloxy or acryloxy).
