FILTER FOR PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND PLASMA DISPLAY APPARATUS HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A filter for a plasma display panel and a plasma display apparatus having the same are provided to improve the clearness of image displayed on the plasma display by controlling a pitch of a light absorption pattern unit. CONSTITUTION: A first substrate and a second substrate are arranged to face each other. Barrier rips(260) are arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The barrier rips comprised of horizontal barrier rips and vertical barrier rips are crossed with each other and defines a discharge cells. A plurality of light absorbing pattern(102) are arranged on one side of the base film. The pitch of light absorbing patterns is under 15% of the vertical length of the discharge cell.
