PURPOSE: A multimedia file play device and a subtitle object control method using the same are provided to structuralize a subtitle display section in which a subtitle object is displayed in order to decide or detect a subtitle object activation section, thereby easily detecting the subtitle object activation section of various kinds of subtitle files. CONSTITUTION: A multimedia file play device includes a subtitle display unit(110) and a subtitle object activation unit(120). The subtitle display unit displays one or more subtitle objects comprising an entire subtitle file on a subtitle display section in which the subtitle file is displayed. The subtitle object activation unit performs preset operations to displayed subtitle objects when a pointing device cursor is located on a subtitle object activation section.
