PURPOSE: A flash memory and a method for reading data are provided to use a page buffer as reading cash by managing state information for the page buffer of the flash memory. CONSTITUTION: A memory cell array(110) includes a plurality of memory cells. A page buffer(120) saves data received from an external host as a data page. The data page is programmed to the plurality of memory cells by the page buffer. A control part(130) decides whether data requested from the external host is saved on the page buffer. The control part reads data from the page buffer in a byte unit.
