PURPOSE: A sensing device for a putting simulation apparatus and a sensing method thereof are provided, which can obtain excellent performance using cheap LED element. CONSTITUTION: A sensing device for a putting simulation apparatus includes a first sensor part(200) equipped in one side of the putting mat; a second sensor part(300) equipped in the other side of the putting mat; a primary light-receiving part(210) which is equipped in one side of the first sensor part and receives the light; a second light-receiving part(220) which is equipped in the other side of the first sensor part and is distanced from the primary light-receiving part; a first LED part(310) which is equipped in one side of the second sensor part and irradiates the light to the primary light-receiving part and the second light-receiving part at the same time; and a second LED part(320) which irradiates the light to the primary light-receiving part and the second light-receiving part at the same.
