A rigid insertion seal assembly (400, 400') for use in the toner hopper of an imaging cartridge comprising a removable rigid insertion element (401); a removable seal (407), said seal having a first side adhered to the first side of the removable rigid insertion element by adhesive elements (403) having a first adhesive strength, said seal having a second side coated with an adhesive layer (404) having a second adhesive strength, said seal including a seal tail (408) folded over the second side of the rigid insertion element (401) and a release liner (409) covering the adhesive layer (404) and having a release liner tail (410), wherein the adhesive layer (404) is adapted for attaching the seal assembly (400, 400') to the surface of the toner hopper over its outlet opening to allow the removable rigid insertion element (401) to be separated from the seal assembly (400, 400') after the release liner (409) has been removed, the removable seal (407) has adhered through the adhesive layer (404) to said surface of the toner hopper and said outlet opening has been sealed.
