There proposed a manufactured particle comprising a chemical treatment agents which are useful in a well, the chemical treatment agent is provided within a void in the particle, the void being in fluid communication with the environment outside the particle and extending therethrough from one side of the particle to another, thus providing at least one flow path through the particle, dissolving the chemical agent from the particle in use thereof in a well. Such particles are used for chemical treatment of wells, e.g. for removing filter cakes. Embodiments of the invention improve well production by providing sand control and/or increasing permeability of a gravel pack. Methods of using the particles and a gravel pack comprising the particles are also provided. |
