PURPOSE: An electronic device and a method for operating thereof are provided to eliminate the waste of unnecessary power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An external device is connected to the input-output part(150). According to the voltage level, the MICOM(120) determines the connection of the external device. The voltage level is detected in the input-output part. The power supply unit(130) switches the output of the power source for supply to the external device MICOM. According to the size of the voltage level of the set output terminal, the MICOM determines the connection of the external device among a plurality of output terminals of the input-output part.
