PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a brass electrode wire is provided to increase the flux over 30% than the conventional one, simplify the manufacturing process, and cut down on the cost. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a brass electrode wire comprises the steps of: preparing brass billet containing copper 60% and zinc 40%, extruding the brass billet through direct extrusion using an extruder and foaming extrusion, heat-treating the brass billet in a nitrogen filling furnace of 750~650°C for preventing oxidation, finishing the heat-treated brass rolled material, and heat-treating the wire-shaped brass rolled material at 250°C to obtain a brass electrode wire.
