<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme electrode for immobilizing a membrane-bound enzyme to a carbon electrode base material with a high immobilization amount, especially with stable binding, and by optimizing the directional property (orientation property) of enzyme binding, and to provide a manufacturing method of the enzyme electrode. <P>SOLUTION: In the enzyme electrode, the membrane-bound enzyme is immobilized to a carbon base material at a ratio of not less than 9×10<SP>-12</SP>mole per one cm<SP>2</SP>carbon base material by direct binding between a hydrophobic group of the membrane-bound enzyme and that of the carbon base material. In the manufacturing method of the enzyme electrode, the membrane-bound enzyme bound with a cell membrane is treated by a surface-active agent to separate the cell membrane, the surface-active agent is removed from the membrane-bound enzyme with which the obtained surface-active agent is bound, and the membrane-bound enzyme is immobilized to the carbon base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
