<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical indoor cable which enables a multiple thread laying in an existing pipe by reducing friction, and to provide a method of laying using the optical indoor cable, wherein problems existing in a conventional technology are taken into consideration. <P>SOLUTION: The optical indoor cable 91 includes an optical fiber 11 and a coating 12 which covers the outer periphery of the optical fiber 11, and undulations which irregularly rise and fall are provided on the surface of the coating 12. As the undulations irregularly rise and fall, the undulations of the optical indoor cable 91 are not stuck to each other and the contact area of the coating 12 is reduced.
