<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently updating a program of each terminal constituting a wireless ad-hoc network without requiring connection to a server for program management or a base station. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This method is used for updating a program in a wireless ad-hoc network comprising a network management terminal CD, a relay function holding terminal RD, and a plurality of end terminals ED, and having a parent-child relationship among the terminals. First an update-dedicated terminal EDU is connected to the network; network information is acquired from the network management terminal CD; a update program distribution list including a distribution order and a distribution route is created based on the network information; and an update program is distributed in accordance with the update program distribution list. For the distribution route, a plurality of block management nodes are set on the network, and the update program is distributed by using the block management nodes as base points.
