PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish proper partner relationship on the spot for the correct combination of an information communication device and an optional card connected with the information communication device to provide an optional function when replacing the information communication device or the optional card for its repair. SOLUTION: Secure memories are provided in the information communication device and the optional card, respectively, to store authentication data in each secure memory. The data indicating a scope of optional function permitting its presentation is stored in at least the secure memory in the optional card to authenticate a partner by using the authentication data. When the information communication device or the optional card is replaced, this information communication system accepts a demand for authentication from an authenticated operator and writes the authentication data of the partner in respective secure memories to establish the proper partner relationship between the information communication device and the optional card so that the optional function is presented to the information communication device from the optional card within the scope permitting its presentation.
