PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position control device capable of highly accurately generating a trigger for making an external device perform a predetermined operation at a target position by combining a control device of a system including a movable controlled object with the target position set and a timer capable of presetting and resetting. SOLUTION: The position control device includes: a position control part 2 connected to the system including the controlled object; and a timer 6 as a trigger generating part for capable of presetting and resetting by the position control part 2. The position control part 2 includes: a speed/acceleration calculation part for calculating speed and acceleration of the controlled object at a position detected at a sampling time point; a required time calculation part for calculating time required for the controlled object to arrive at the target position from the detected position by using the calculated speed and acceleration; and a required time setting part for presetting the calculated required time in the timer 6.
