<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner having a sharp particle diameter distribution necessary for obtaining an image with high picture quality, and to provide a method for efficiently producing the toner having the sharp particle diameter distribution by small equipment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is the method for manufacturing the toner including an emulsification process where an oil phase comprising a solution or a dispersion liquid, which is obtained by dissolving or dispersing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent in an organic solvent, and an aqueous medium are supplied to a shear means, and the shear force is applied to the mixture liquid of the oil phase and the aqueous medium to obtain an emulsion liquid, wherein the number of time when the mixture liquid of the oil phase and the aqueous medium pass through the shear means is one, and prior to passing through the shear means, the oil phase and the aqueous medium are preliminarily mixed by a pre-mixing means.
