<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screed device of a paving machine, which enables a gap between a mold board and a road surface to be easily adjusted with a weak force. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mold board 19 includes an upper mold board 19A integrated with a pipe shaft 20, and a lower mold board 19B arranged in a vertically movable manner near the lower end of the upper mold board 19A. A shaft 24, and a boss 28 and an arm 29 of an operation-direction converting means 25 are arranged on the upper mold board 19; and a pin 31 of the operation-direction converting means 25 is fixed on the lower mold board 19B. The lower mold board 19B advances from/recedes to the lower end of the upper mold board 19A in synchronization with a vertical conversion action performed with the operation-direction converting means 25, so that the gap between the mold board 19 and the road surface can be adjusted.
