A method is provided, including inserting a gastric balloon (38, 220) coupled to an inflation tube (32, 230) into a stomach (41) of a subject without using an endoscope. The method further includes non-endoscopically identifying a presence of the gastric balloon (38, 220) within the stomach (41) of the subject and inflating the gastric balloon (38, 200) in response to the identifying. Other embodiments are also provided.
