The exhaust system (1) has an exhaust gas turbine (3) and an exhaust pipe (4) whose inlet (5) is fluidically connected with an outlet (6) of the exhaust gas turbine. A flanged connection (2) is provided for connecting the exhaust gas turbine with the exhaust pipe. A protective apron (14) is so arranged or integrated in the flanged connection that the protective apron protects a transition zone (13) between a flange (9) and the exhaust pipe before the direct impact with exhaust gas during operation of the exhaust system.
