The device (V) has an input module (3) i.e. infrared touch panel, generating a set of detection signals for a detected spatial position of control objects e.g. user's finger (8). Another input module (1) i.e. touch screen, generates a detection signal for detected contact of a detection surface (10). An evaluation unit evaluates the signals transmitted from the modules to the unit, such that the signals are guided for manipulation of a display object i.e. cursor. The modules are arranged together such that introduction of the objects into a detection area (E) is detected by one of the modules.
