<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft torque measuring device capable of measuring accurately torque applied to a shaft member held rotatably. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this torque measuring device, a rotating member (pulley) 1 for transmitting torque is fitted with a shaft member (rotating shaft) 2 held rotatably, and a fastener (nut) 5 for pressing the rotating member 1 in the axis direction is fitted with the shaft member 2, and a receiving surface 6 for pinching the rotating member 1 together with the fastener 5 is formed on the shaft member 2, and further a sensor (strain gage) 11 for measuring the torque based on strain of the shaft member 2 is mounted on the shaft member 2. The sensor (strain gage) 11 is mounted on a spot 15 out of a clamping load application domain between the fastener 5 and the receiving surface 6, on the shaft member 2.
