PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swash plate type variable displacement piston pump capable of surely preventing a stopper member from being slipped out, and manufacturable compactly at low cost. SOLUTION: An annular groove 37 in the circumferential direction is provided at the shaft diameter part of the stopper member 20 fitted into a housing hole 11a and the diameter of the bottom face of the annular groove 37 is formed smaller than the hole diameter of the housing hole 11a. The diameter of the bottom face of a come-out preventing groove 38 formed at the housing hole 11a is formed larger than the diameter in the case that an external force from the outer diameter direction is released by an elastic member 25 engaged with the stopper member 20. The width of the come-out preventing groove 38 is formed longer than the movable range of the elastic member 24 determined from a movable range in the case that the stopper member 20 is axially moved by the compression of the elastic member 24.
