PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight high variable power zoom lens suitable for single-lens reflex digital cameras, which attains >75°in a field angle on a wide-angle side, approximately 3 to 4 in F-number at a wide-angle end and approximately 6 to 7 in F-number at a telephoto end, and about 15 in a variable power ratio, and advantageously incorporates an anti-vibration mechanism. SOLUTION: The high variable power zoom lens comprises four lens groups having positive, negative, positive, and positive power. The positive third lens group has, in order from an object side, a front group having positive refractive power, and a rear group having negative refractive power. By moving only the rear group in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis, imaging plane correction when camera shake is caused is performed.
