The power station has a boiler (2) for evaporating fluid medium i.e. water. A steam-powered assembly i.e. motor (3), is connected downstream the boiler. A feed pump (1) conveys the fluid medium to the boiler. A heat exchanger (4) is provided in a heat pump arrangement (6), where the fluid medium flowing from the motor to the feed pump delivers heat to the heat exchanger and flows into the feed pump at a temperature of about 50 degree Celsius. The heat exchanger returns the heat to the fluid medium flowing from the feed pump to the boiler. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a power station.
