The device (5) has a control unit (14) arranged in a transmission path (7) and comprising an actuating element (15) e.g. throttle, for changing a free cross section of a channel body (16). The actuating element has a control contour e.g. throttle edge, in a longitudinal section at an outer side that is turned towards the channel body. The control contour cooperates with an inner side of the channel body for adjusting the free cross section based on a relative position between the actuating element and the channel body. The contour is convexly curved towards the channel body.
