PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel phosphorus derivative substituted-subphthalocyanine derivative with a phosphorus derivative having the excellent solubility as the axial substituent without deteriorating the characteristics inherent to subphthalocyanines, its manufacturing method, and an optical film using the substance.

SOLUTION: The novel phosphorus derivative-substituted subphthalocyanine derivative represented by formula (I), wherein Z1-Z12are H, an alkyl group, and the like, and R1, R2are an alkyl group, and the like, is useful as an optical film.
