<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for acquisition of the EYE waveform of a signal transmitted via a random pattern generation circuit or a transmission channel 3 in a signal transmission system that transmits a signal via the transmission channel 3 and to suppress the expansion of a circuit scale. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The signal transmission system includes a preemphasis circuit 14 that gives preemphasis to a signal before transmission via the transmission channel 3: a receiving side time measurement part 32 that measures the receiving side time that exceeds a threshold voltage level in the waveform of a signal after transmission via the transmission channel 3; a comparison deciding part 22 that compares the receiving side time measured by the receiving side time measurement part 32 with the expected value of the transmission side time that exceeds the threshold voltage level in the signal before transmission via the transmission channel 3; and a preemphasis control part 21 that controls the preemphasis circuit 14 to adjust the preemphasis based on the result of comparison by the comparison deciding part 22.
