<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of unsafe driving, causes of traffic accidents and increase in fuel consumption due to shift position confirmation behavior by a driver and travelling with a shift position unconfirmed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A system captures a moment of the shift lever position changed by the automobile driver and notifies the driver of a sound or a reproduced voice defined according to the shift lever position, so that the driver can recognize the shift lever position without changing the direction of driver's eyes. When the driver wants to know the shift lever position at any time during driving, the notice of the sound or the reproduced voice defined according to the shift lever position is notified to the driver by activating the system with a switch or the like attached to a shift lever or the like, so that the driver can recognize the shift lever position without changing the direction of the driver's eyes.
