PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of adjusting brightness of a light source by switching on and off the light source. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method of adjusting the brightness of the light source including a step of providing the light source having X brightness levels, a step of switching on and off the light source at least one time, a step in which when the number of times n to switch on the light source is smaller than or equal to all of the numbers X of the brightness levels, the brightness level of the light source at the n-th brightness level in the X brightness levels is determined, a step in which when the number of times n to switch on the light source is larger than all of the numbers X of the brightness level, the brightness level of the light source at the m-th brightness level in the X brightness levels is decided (number m is equal to the remainder obtained by dividing the number n by the number X), and a step in which when the number n of times switching on the light source is larger than all of the numbers X of the brightness numbers and the number m is equal to zero, the brightness level of the light source at the last brightness level in the X brightness levels is decided.
