<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tactile information detector for simply, easily and accurately detecting tactile information indicating a touch when a human strokes a to-be-detected plane. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The tactile information detector includes: a contact element 11 contacting the to-be-detected plane; a frictional sound detecting microphone 12 for detecting a frictional sound generated when the contact element 11 moves while it contacts the to-be-detected plane; an information storage 17 for storing frictional sound information generated when the contact element 11 moves while it contacts at least one type of a to-be-contacted plane, and the tactile information on the to-be-contacted plane so as to be mapped; and an analysis section 20 for calculating a correlation between the frictional sound information detected by the frictional sound detecting microphone 12 and the frictional sound information stored in the information storage 17, reading the tactile information mapped to the frictional information having the correlation higher than a predetermined value from the information storage 17, and outputting it as the tactile information on the to-be-detected plane.
