PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and an image forming apparatus, in which an image is fixed by a non-contact heat fixing system and a finished image is excellent in document offset resistance. SOLUTION: The image forming method includes fixing an image formed of a toner containing at least a resin, a colorant and a release agent, by a non-contact heat fixing system, wherein the release agent is ester wax expressed by general formula:R1-(OCO-R2)n(wherein R1and R2represent hydrocarbon groups and n is 1 to 4).
