PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for inspecting samples using a membrane assay method, which enables highly accurate detection of an object to be measured while preventing the occurrence of a false positive, and a kit used in such a method. SOLUTION: The simple membrane assay method for an object to be measured in a sample using an assay device provided with a membrane coupled to a capturing reagent for capturing the object includes: dropping the sample onto the membrane after filtering the sample through a filter; and detecting the presence of the object in the sample. The simple membrane assay kit for inspecting the presence of an object to be measured in a sample includes the following: (1) the filter; and (2) an assay device provided with a membrane coupled to a capturing material for capturing the object.
