PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat cable easy to process a terminal; and to provide a method of manufacturing the same, which can improve productivity and can reduce the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a flat cable, which has a plurality of flat conductors 2 arranged in parallel with each other and insulating films 3 attached to the flat conductors from both sides of the parallel surface, has: a release agent-coating step of coating a release agent 11 to the flat conductors 2; a cable-forming step of arranging a plurality of flat conductors 2 in parallel with each other and attaching the insulating films 3 from both sides of the parallel surface; a cutting step of cutting the insulating film 3 at positions near both ends of the flat cable 1, which is cut to a predetermined length in the cable-forming step; and a drawing step of drawing the flat conductor 2 from a separating piece to expose it by pulling the separating piece formed of the insulating film 3 on the end side.
