Computer-assisted method for the advanced design of folded pieces of composite material, using a computer-supported CAD system, which comprises the following steps: a) providing the 2D fabric model (11) of the piece; b) generating the 3D outer surface (19) of the piece; c) obtaining the 3D fabric model (51), adapting the 2D fabric model (11) to the geometry of the 3D exterior surface (19) by folding the contour lines (17) of the patterns (13) of the 2D model (11) with respect to fold lines (23) established in relation to a folded surface (31) similar to that of the tool provided for folding the piece; and d) generating the solid model (53) of the folded piece. The invention also relates to a computer program that, when implemented on a computer together with a CAD system, implements the method.
