<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to increase the efficiency of dialysis for the removal from blood of substances that are more or less tightly bound to carriers such as albumin. <P>SOLUTION: The flow rate of a cleaning fluid and the mass transfer coefficient k<SB>o</SB>A of a filter are significantly increased, compared to a conventional dialyzer, wherein a cleaning fluid flow rate is at least 2,000 ml/min, and a mass transfer coefficient koA of the filter is at least 2,000 ml/min.
