A shuttleless face-to-face loom with rigid weft inserters 7, 8 at both sides of the loom has means to move the inserters vertically to compensate for arcuate movement of the sley and to keep them positioned in the sheds 5, 6 whilst they oscillate with the sley. The inserters are moved in the weft direction by a double crank and gear wheel mechanism 27 that is arranged horizontally and set at an angle to the reed 2 so that the inserter pin 28 not only moves in the weft direction but moves in the warp direction in time with the reed 2. The weft inserters 7, 8 are guided by rollers 16, 17 on supports 18 attached to slides 14, 15 which are vertically movable, by fixed cams 25, in guides 13 attached to the sley.</p> |
