In a step of transferring a strip-like optical film (F), the optical film (F) is cut to obtain a sheet having a prescribed length. Then, while feeding the optical film (F) having the prescribed length until the subsequent cutting part reaches a cutting operation position, the cut optical film (F) is intermittently transferred, and at the same time, the rear end of the optical film (F) at the head of the intermittent transfer step is fed to a continuous transfer step, over the intermittent transfer step, at the time of the subsequent intermittent transfer. At this time, the cut optical film (F) is transferred to a continuous transfer step wherein the subsequent optical film (F) in downstream of the intermittent transfer step is continuously transferred.
