<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon-based solvent composition which has high solvent power and excellent safety, hardly exudes an aromatic smell, and has high boiling point and low viscosity suitable as a solvent. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hydrocarbon-based solvent composition contains ≥90 mass% aromatic compounds and has ≥5 mass% content of a compound having an aryl group and 224 molecular weight, ≤35 mass% content of a compound having an aryl group and 210 molecular weight and ≤50 mass% content of alkyl naphthalene.
