[Also in Division F1] A compression sprayer container has a removable cover, a seal between the cover and a tank 10 of the container, a pressure relief valve 37 on the cover and means for operating the pressure relief valve to release pressure within the container while the cover is being removed but before it is completely removed. The cover is held closed by its helical flange 27 mating with a corresponding helical flange 15 on the tank 10. When the handle 11 is rotated anticlockwise its legs 22 engage a plate 25 of the cover, the plate having an upturned lip 32 which is caused to rotate and depress a pin 30 of the relief valve 37. On further rotation of the handle the ends of the slots 33, 36 in the plate engage pins 34, 35 respectively in the helical flange 27 which then rotates to release the cover. |
