PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide opening and closing equipment which has a mechanical obstacle sensing structure less susceptible to a power supply failure etc., and which brings about the proper operability, particularly, of an automatic closing device and a braking mechanism. SOLUTION: A seat plate interlocking mechanism A comprises: a tension lifting mechanism 90 which lifts the tension of a first cord-like member a1 by upward movement of a movable seat plate 12; a rotator 70 provided in such a manner as to be pulled with the first cord-like member a1 and rotated in one direction; a second cord-like member a2, one end side of which is fixed on the outer peripheral side of the rotator 70, and provided in such a manner that a lever member 52 is pulled to the side of a return position with its other end side; and a damper means 80 engaged with the rotator 70 so as to apply resistance to the rotation of the rotator 70 in a reverse direction.
