The device (1) has a tubular perforated fuel rod (5) that stays in fluid communication with a gas supply in an use position, and a shell (4) that is arranged below the fuel rod. The shell and the fuel rod are movable relative to each other from the use position to a cleaning position. An interface (7) is provided between the fuel rod and the gas supply. The fuel rod is movable against the gas supply in the interface and/or separable from the gas supply. A valve is arranged before the gas supply and the fuel rod in a fluid-guiding manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning a grill device.
