<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell securing safety of piping connected to a stack, especially fuel gas piping in collision of vehicles, and preventing atmospheric discharge of hydrogen in a stack even if fuel gas piping is damaged on the outside of a case. <P>SOLUTION: In the fuel cell, (1) a case 40 for housing a fuel cell stack 23 is mounted on a vehicle body, a shut-off valve 48 is installed in fuel gas piping 31a out of fluid piping connected to the stack, and the shut-off valve is housed in the case. (2) The shut-off valve is installed in both portions of an inlet of the stack and an outlet from the stack of the fuel gas piping. (3) The case 40 for housing the fuel cell stack is mounted on the vehicle body, and the distribution part and collecting part of the fluid piping are housed in the case 40. The case 40 is made of aluminum, and a portion between the piping and the inner surface of the case is insulated.
