<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembling method of a thrust bearing which enables assembling of the bearing without causing damage or deformation on a retainer and a racing ring, and irrespective of an operator's skill level. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The thrust bearing 1 applied to this assembling method includes a roller 4 a retainer in which a roller 6 is locked and held in the retainer 5, and a racing ring 2. The racing ring 2 includes a front panel 2a, a cylindrical collar 2b, and an anti-removal projection 2c which can be engaged with the retainer 5 by projecting from the tip of the collar 2b. In this assembling method, the racing ring 2 is mounted on a conical-surface-like pedestal 12 in a state that the collar 2b faces upward, the collar 2b of the racing ring 2 is pushed from above by a pressurization jig 13, and the collar 2b of the racing ring 2 is elastically deformed so as to be opened with respect to the front panel 2a, and the roller 4 with the retainer is so assembled in this opened state to come into contact with the front panel 2a by passing the anti-removal projection 2c.
