<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor and its control method capable of suppressing a rotating stall in a vaneless diffuser, having almost no power loss or pressure loss, and capable of retaining an advantage of the vaneless diffuser of having a simple structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A compressor is provided with a vaneless diffuser 7A converting kinetic energy applied to fluid by an impeller 5A into pressure energy, in a portion nearer an outlet of the impeller 5A. The compressor has a fluid circulation passage 12 with an inlet 12A opened in a portion nearer an outlet of the vaneless diffuser 7A, and an outlet 12B opened in a wall surface of a casing facing a hub disk 5C back face of the impeller 5A.
